You're Too Marvellous for Words

Hi all I hope you're having a great Friday?
I've been a bit MIA round these parts lately & on FB too as I've been sketching like mad ready for the next release! I'm really pleased with how it's progressing & am looking forward to some exciting new products & updates to come! :)
Right after that little tease, here's a quick card update using one of my favourite images Frilly Dress.

I really love colouring this image. The folds & frills of the dress are so much fun to do & the movement & depth you can get is fab! I'm a big fan of colouring hair as well & that's why all my images have mahooosive hair! :)

This is different colour combo for me - a tad scary, but I was pleased with how it turned out in the end. I think the ribbon looks a bit blue in the picture but in real life its a perfect match - honest :)

The sentiment I used is a free printable I found on Pinterest. I'm sorry I cant remember from who but I think its just too marvellous! Although potentially spelt wrong??

I'm loving the trend for piercing paper at the moment. I think its a really effective technique for edging my layers. I'm also totally addicted to my corner dies from Whimsy Stamps!!!

I really hope you like my pretty girl in her Frilly Dress :)
Get ready for some sneaky peeks over the weekend of the May Releases, eeeeek....
Happy Friday all

Pretty Mary Janes

Hi everyone. I hope you're having a great weekend! I am loving having a day with nothing else to do but craft & check out my favourite blogs.
While I'm here I thought I would share this card with you. I made her a couple of weeks ago but just haven't had chance to share.

I've used the lovely Mary Janes image from my most recent collection and she is great fun to colour, I love her!

I was inspired by a recent Papercraft Inspirations Magazine project which used some lovely colours & layers as well as some stitching. Unfortunately I'm not great at the stitching thing & also have a distinct lack of patience but I do love how cards look with that detail. As a compromise I decided to have a go at some paper piercing instead & I loooove how it looks. I've basically been piercing everything ever since haha!

The designs in the project used a lot of flower embellishments too & I was really pleased with this final arrangement. This is always the most fiddly bit for me. I spend literally hours faffing with them until I get them just right :)

To add some balance I stamped a Lilly Of The Valley ticket stamp onto some Kraft card. using some stamp edged scissors I cut the card to look like a ticket stub, added a double tied hemp bow & a cute polka dot button.

Finally I decorated the inside in corresponding papers & embellishments. This paper is the LOTV Perfect Pairs paper pad which is just gorgeous. The corner dies are my new most favourite thing & are Whimsy Stamps as is the Heart Tag you can see peeping out behind my image.

So that's it for now.

I hope you like her & I'd love to see your comments.

Hobbycraft Demo Day 6th April

Evening everyone.

A really late post from me I'm afraid. I've been so busy with other crafty stuff today that I got completely waylaid :) Its amazing how time vanishes when you're immersed in your card making isn't it? I now have 2 cards to share with you at a later date. But first as promised here is a quick post about my demo day at Hobbycraft in Sheffield last week.

It was again an absolutely fantastic day with many regular visitors & supporters who am so grateful to. I was showcasing my new collection as well as my 'Limited Edition' Colouring Pads.

I'm so please people liked the Colouring Pads on the day. It was really nice for people to be able to walk away with something so I may have to extend the line for my next visit.

This was my table set up ready for my visitors. I had extra space this time so more people could come & watch & chat which was much better I thought. The staff at Hobbycraft in Sheffield are just awesome by the way! They have all made me feel so welcome & part of the team its been wonderful. Marc & Richard are the Managers of the store & they & their team have been so supportive so thank you to them all for letting me camp out all day colouring :)

Here are 2 wonderful followers of my blog & FB page Zoe & Theresa who stopped by for some colouring tips & even had a go themselves! (I'm the one in the middle :))They weren't expecting the photo opp but were great sports about showing off their work.

This is Theresa & Zoes's finished work. Great huh? I was using lots of 'floating' heads throughout the day to demonstrate skin tones & hair which are what I get asked most about. I ended up giving all my demos away to people which is why I don't have any to show here.  I love what Theresa & Zoe did though & its great how we all learn from each other. I would never have thought of pink hair but I absolutely love this idea & will definitely try it on a project.
I was also asked a lot about blonde hair techniques so will have to incorporate that more as my 'go to' is always brunette.

So... what I didn't get chance to demo was the fur on these 'Mew-vellous Moggies'. I'll try again next time for this one & maybe a 'tut' at some point on here too. They really are loads of fun to colour & so easy to change up into any combination of cat colouring you like.

If you're in the area & have missed one of my Demo Days don't worry 'I'll be back' :) On the 12th May this time which is my first Sunday so I hope you can make it.
I'm also still planning some workshops & visits to other stores too in the future so I'll keep you posted on other dates etc.

Thank you everyone who visited me on the day. Your support means the world.

New Digi Release!!

It feels like I've been working on this for ages & now I can finally reveal my April release digis to you - Yay!! :)

I really hope you like them, its so nerve racking getting to this bit, I'm biting my nails...
There are a lot this time around so I've but them in groups to show them to you.

First up are the little fairies. I decided it might be nice to give you the Toadstool image seperately because it can be used for many other things. All images are PNG so you can use them in a variety of different ways.

Next up are some furry friends, my Mew-vellous Moggies! These are my first pet themed stamps & I will be adding to this collection in the future. They are loads of fun to colour too. I'm going to share a fur colouring tutorial in the future because its my new favourite thing haha!

These too cuties are Mary Janes & Happy Birthday. I have a fun card using Happy Birthday to share in a future post. 2 really versatile stamps I think :)

These pretty girls are in their best frocks and are really sweet. Those ruffles are so much fun to colour I promise :).

These are my cool teens. I had loads of requests on a recent Facebook post for a girl with her mobile phone & this was the result. This is pretty much how I look all the time - its a wonder I don't trip up haha!

And finally its a little departure for me again with a more grown up girly for you. Martini Girl is just the elegant lady I wish I was. She too is the start of an elegant ladies collection. Flower Freya was inspired by DT member Emma who loves this sweet girl image! :)

Phew! So that's it! The New Collection is available now HERE!

My wonderful DT have been beevering away with some of the new images so please check out their blogs via my DT page.
I will also be posting some coloured images & tutorials for you to look at & hopefully inspire you over the next few days.

I'd love to hear what you think about the new collection so please do leave a comment I really would appreciate it. :)
I'm off now to get ready for a day of demonstrating at Hobbycraft today, so if you're in Sheffield please stop by & say hello!
xXx
